HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AND MERRY CHRISTMAS JETT

Jett got to have 2 wonderful birthdays, one in Lake Charles with my family and one in Corpus Christi with Vince's family.

So here is my wonderful attempt at making Jett his first birthday cake, my mother in law who is a cake decorater would be appalled. I didn't even want to post a picture of Jett's cake from her because I would just be even more embarrased at my cake.

He got all kinds of fun gifts including this playset which he loves from my parents.

However when it came time for cake it was also naptime. I upset him when I accidentally snapped his face with his birthday hat, we never got him back up to speed, so here is his first cake experience.

In Corpus the fun gift was this little four wheeler that he absolutely loves, we can't get him off of it!! I didn't even know they made that stuff for 1 year olds, but here you go. He doesn't steer yet, but he has that go button down!

And we also got a little better at the cake stuff.

It was fun in Corpus because Jett got to spend some time with his cousins.

And it is not easy to get kids to look at the camera and smile all at the same time!

I just had to throw this picture in here too. We were at some friends house, and my friends son loves cowboy get up, and apparently so does Jett!

Family Pictures

OK, so we have just moved into a beautiful rental house in McKinney, and had to go to Corpus to get all of our things, we were only there for one day, but I was able to get an AWESOME photographer in our old ward to take some time out of her day and take some pictures of us, and here are the results!!

It was so hot out there I'm surprised you can't just see our faces dripping with sweat!

Jett was so good for the most part and just looked at the camera and smiled whenever Amber talked to him.

Until it came to the grass . . . We were trying to get a picture of Vince and I squatting and Jett standing inbetween us, but he thought the grass was too interesting to hold still. We finally gave up on the picture and just let him play in the grass, but we still got a cute picture.

Here is my little man standing. He is starting to let go of things and trying to balance on his feet, I'm sure he'll be walking pretty soon. Which will be interesting. Just crawling he can pretty much get into whatever he wants, but he never takes the easy path, if there is an obstacle instead of going around it, he tries to go through it, he's gotten stuck a few times inbetween the chairs at the table. But somehow he always goes right back.

We are so blessed to have him in our lives and maybe if things keep going well, he will have a little brother or sister soon!!

Jett-a-rooni

Well I know it's been a little while. It's amazing how behind you can get on things with one little baby around. But here is a little update.

Jett was baptized on February 8th by his Dad. It was so cute, his little sweater was actually knitted by my sister's mother in law, the sweater fit perfectly, but the hole for the head was too small, so it's a miracle I got it over his big head, he wasn't happy about it.

Jett will have some big boots to fill when he get's old enough for Grandpa to pick on!

We took Jett swimming for the first time a couple of weeks ago, he LOVED it. He always loved bathtime, but I wasn't sure about cold water. I guess I was just being overprotective because he was in heaven!

Vince thinks it's funny to put him in his swing to go to sleep, but then he hangs over the side. It's pretty funny though. He is the light of our life, but I get a little annoyed because he is already a Daddy's boy. I'll be holding him and he won't even pay attention to me because he is too busy looking for Vince. He is getting ready to crawl, already up on his hands and knees rocking back and forth, so good luck to me!!!

Trip to Arizona

So my Mom and I decided to take a crazy car trip with a 3 week old baby to Arizona. I got pulled over on the way to El Paso but luckily got only a warning (the baby was screaming in the back so the cop had pity on me) but after a very long trip we finally made it to Arizona to see my sister, my Grandmas, and my new beautiful niece Brynlee.
Here are Jett and I with the cactI in Arizona. I was quickly corrected by my 4 year old nephew when I tried to refer to them as cactuses. He was quick to point out to me that if it's one it's a cactus, and if it's more than one, then they are called cacti. Pretty sad getting corrected by someone who's not even in kindergarten!

Here are some of the pics that my sis had taken

Here we both are with our cute little babies

And here are the two new ones with 5 generations. We are so lucky to be able to take a picture like this. Pretty awesome to have that many generations. My great grandma by the was is 90 years old and just got her drivers license renewed. She is a pretty amazing woman.

Here is Jett and Brynlee, you can see a definite size difference despite them only being 2 weeks apart. Brynlee looks terrified that Jett will roll over on her!

And here is my little Cowboys fan!

He just needs a little more time to grow into that hat!!!

Baby Jett's finally here!

Vince and I are so happy to announce the arrival of our precious baby Jett on December the 19, weighing 7 lb 7 oz and 20 in long. He is a healthy happy baby who looks just like his daddy. So finally for those of you who have been waiting here are some pictures.
Here is Jett in his Christmas hat that Grandma Cox got for him.

Here he is taking a snooze on the stuffed dog that Santa brought.

Here's baby Jett and cousin Avery hanging out.

And here he is as Mommy's little wrapped up burrito. lol.
Maybe one day soon when Mommy gets a little more weight off there will be some family pics!

Sewing up a Frenzy

Well, Mom has been kind enough and patient enough to try and teach me the basics of sewing. I like the finished product a lot better than the process though, but we have successfully made a couple of quilts, some burp cloths, and Mom made a changing pad. Now I have also made some cute bibs, and Mom made me a super cute blanket, because I got the materials, and then didn't feel like sewing it. Aren't Mom's great??? I'll have to add the bibs, and Mom's quilt in later, but this is what we got.

I think Roxy has taken claim over the changing pad. I couldn't get her off it. Anyway, sorry Brittany my photos are definitely professional quality, but you get the idea!

It's a BOY!!!

Vince and I just found out yesterday that we are having a little boy, and we are soooooooooo excited. I must say that I am new to blogging, but thanks to my wonderful sister Brittany, I have no way out of it. Hopefully I can keep up with it, and I also hope nobody expects to see any fat Mandy pictures, because that is not going to happen!!! And since I am an official Mom now I guess it's never too early to start embarrasing your child. Sooooo, here are some of the sono pictures taken yesterday. We'll start with a nice profile picture.

And here is kindof a scary looking face pic. Lol. Vince and I were joking that it's our little alien baby, because you can see the face bones behind the skin.

And how do we know for sure it's a boy, you ask?? Well, let me show you . . .

Our baby was bearing all and we got a pretty good picture of Mr. Winky.

And there's no stopping boys from being boys. When the sono tech went in for the second picture, she show us Mr. Winky again, and if you look right by it, there is Mr. Hand right there too. Those boys sure do figure out their anatomy quickly don't they??? Now that they finding out what it is part is over next stop - deciding names!!!
